Below pictures of Dr. James Naismith and Frances Pomeroy Naismith Holton is the birthplace of Frances Pomeroy Naismith, daughter
in law of Dr. James Naismith the creator of basketball.

Holton native Frances Pomerory, born in 1911, married Dr. Naismith's son , James. Frances graduated from Holton High School in 1928, KU in 1932. On display is a copy of the original rules of Basketball. The rules were stored
in Holton during World War II, when Frances returned to Holton while her husband served in the war. Also on display
is a baby carriage donated by Ian
Naismith, son of Frances. Dr. Naismith
dedicated Holton's new gym in 1932, in attendance was Phog Allen.
